With the addition of the hot neighbor Hayes, he came a really ramped up the speed of the gameplay. First he hit on Andie. And she was into it, but not as much as Hayes was. But despite this Andie was still living her best life. Hayes wanted to woohoo, so why not? What is the worst that could happen.

A one night fling with Hayes led to Andi discovering that she was pregnant. What was she going to do? Her apartment could hardly fit both her and Joel, so a baby would make it even harder! And to top it all off, Hayes doesn't seem to want to keep the baby, but not for reasons she expected.

Hayes spilled his heart out to Andie, and he came out to her as gay. She honestly felt some relief, because she knew Hayes wasn't right for her. Actually, the entire reason she started to talk to Hayes was because she thought he would be a cute fit for Joel. But then one thing led to another, and now Andie was pregnant with Hayes' baby.
Fortunately, Hayes got a little better. He agreed to be in the baby's life, especially after he found out that Andie's roommate Joel had a crush on him.
Joel had actually been the first one interested in Hayes, but he kept quiet about it. He hadn't come to terms with his sexuality at the time. But there was tension between him and Hayes when he was over to arrange preparations for the upcoming baby. Hayes told his best pickup lines to Joel, and soon was obsessed with him. For better or for worse...
Hayes and Joel were together non stop, from smoking and laughing to woohooing. But Hayes didn't want anything official, but Joel did. There were a few nights where Haye's door would show that he was having some pretty loud woohoo with someone else. But, Joel did his best to ignore it. Besides, it is not like Hayes was his boyfriend... Just friends with benefits?

Unlike Andie and Hayes, Joel was actually more worried about the life this upcoming baby would live. Haye's had a job, but not a great one. So this is where Joel becomes much more family orientated than he thought, even if it was chosen family. Joel was going to do everything he could to make this kid's upbringing better than what Andie and him had.
With the quality of his herb plants popping off, Joel got mixed up in some err- part time job? He had connections with a popular gang in town, and he soon became their supplier for all of San Myshuno's finest herbs. But hey, the income was great. Joel had actually felt like he was needed in life, even if it was just supporting Andie and her baby.
By the time the baby was born, Joel had almost enough saved to move to a more child friendly lot. The baby was a boy, and his name was Walter Spear. He even had a cute little toddler bed at the end of Andie's bed. But 19 Cullpepper house was getting too cramped. Hayes was always over sleeping in Joel's bed, so he practically also lived there.
Finally Joel had worked enough to have enough simoleons to afford a cute house in Brindleton Bay, or maybe it was in Henford-on-Bagley. I honestly can't remember, it was a while ago. But there was enough room for a greenhouse, and a nice play for Walter to grow up. Joel was happy to get out of the city.
Andie, Joel, Hayes and Walter moved into their new home. Joel and Hayes decided to be official. Andie began dating another sim, and somehow quickly ended up pregnant again. Hayes and Andie were actually the best of friends. After Andie had her second child, her man moved in and Hayes had decided to go to University. He worked hard, and focused completely on school.
